FG Patronizes Indigenous Firm to Stem Malnutrition
In line with the Federal Government’s commitment to encourage local manufacturers in Nigeria according to the Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative, the Federal Ministry of Health has endorsed a new Ready To Use Food (RUTF); a product, manufactured by ERISCO FOODS LIMITED, a subsidiary of Erisco Bonpet Group.
Speaking at the official presentation of the RUTF during the group’s courtesy visit to the Ministry recently, in Abuja, the Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, commended the Company for its contribution towards economic development of the country through her various products.
The Minister added that the new product which was specially packaged for malnourished children would go a long way in addressing the challenges of malnutrition in the country..

He further pledged to introduce the product which had been certified by National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to UNICEF and other International Agencies for patronage.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Erisco Foods Limited, Chief Eric Umeofia, said that going by the efforts and achievements recorded by the Minister towards improving the Nutrition status of Children in the country, Erisco deemed it necessary to partner with the Ministry in that direction.
Chief Umeofia also informed that his visit to the Ministry was to solicit full support for the RUTF from the Federal Ministry of Health, in that, the product was essential for the health and wellbeing of Nigerian children whom the present administration was poised to cater for.
The Product was packaged and presented in small and big sizes at different price range of N100 and N500, respectively.
