Army Stations Troops in Sokoto Border Community after Bandit threats
The Nigerian Army has deployed troops to Tidibale community in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State following threats by bandits, as part of efforts to restore confidence, ensure safety and prevent a return of criminal elements.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 2 Joint Task Force (North West), Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Maj. Gen. Bemgba Paul Koughna, disclosed this during an assessment visit to the community on Sunday.
Koughna said the deployment was aimed at maintaining a robust security presence in Tidibale after residents, who had earlier fled due to bandit threats, began returning to their homes. He assured the community that troops would remain vigilant and ready to respond swiftly to any security challenge.
“The Nigerian Army is fully committed to protecting lives and property. Troops have been stationed here to ensure that no part of this community is taken over by bandits,” the GOC said.
