NAF Targets Precision Strikes with Incoming M-346 Fighter Jets
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has advanced its fleet modernisation efforts following strategic engagements between the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, and Leonardo Aircraft Division in Milan, Italy, over the M-346 fighter ground attack aircraft programme.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, confirmed this in a statement today.
The statement said the discussions, held between January 19 and 20, 2026, focused on synchronising aircraft delivery with infrastructure readiness in Nigeria to ensure seamless induction into operational service.
Air Marshal Aneke described the M-346 programme as a major boost to the NAF’s combat capability, noting that the platform will enhance precision strike operations, improve pilot training, and strengthen Nigeria’s regional deterrence posture.
