Police Nab Suspect, Recover Arms After Robbery Attempt in Abuja
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered weapons following a foiled robbery attempt within Abuja city.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspect was apprehended after police operatives swiftly responded to a distress call indicating an ongoing robbery attempt.

Adeh said the prompt intervention of the police forced the suspect to flee, leading to his eventual arrest, while arms and other incriminating items were recovered at the scene.
She added that the arrest prevented a potential threat to lives and property, noting that investigations are ongoing to determine whether the suspect is linked to a wider criminal network operating within the Federal Capital Territory.
The police spokesperson reassured residents of the command’s commitment to sustained patrols and intelligence-led operations aimed at curbing criminal activities across the city.
The suspect is currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
