Police Arrest 19 Suspected Bandits, Recover Over 400 Rustled Cattle, Goats in Kwara
The Kwara State Police Command has arrested 19 suspected bandits and cattle rustlers during a coordinated bush clearance operation around Ekati village in the Lade area of the state.
Police sources disclosed that the operation was carried out in collaboration with members of the Miyetti Allah vigilante group, leading to the arrest of the suspects at various hideouts within the forested area.

Those arrested were identified as Mohammed Salihu, 25; Mohammadu Musa, 23; Abubakar Sani, also known as Siddi, 25; Yusuf Isah, alias Lariya, 22; Mohammadu Ibrahim, alias Iro, 21; Mohammadu Sani, alias Kachalla Ruga, 65; Musa Ado, alias Mandu, 65; Abubakar Adamu, alias Buba, 26; Mohammadu Zangina, 25; and Abubakar Shaibu, alias Jijji, 20, among others.
Preliminary investigations indicate that most of the suspects are from Zamfara State, while one is said to be from the Niger Republic and another from Katsina State.
During the operation, security operatives recovered 370 cows and 58 goats believed to have been rustled.
The Police Command said investigations are ongoing to ascertain the full extent of the suspects’ activities and to identify other possible accomplices.
