Troops Eliminate 15 Terrorists, Dismantle Logistics Base in Yobe Offensive
Troops of Sector 2 under Operation DESERT SANITY V have neutralised 15 terrorists and destroyed a suspected logistics hub during a precision offensive around Lamusheri Village in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Military sources disclosed that the early morning operation on February 22 was the culmination of weeks of coordinated intelligence gathering. The mission was supported by satellite imagery as well as Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) air platforms, which identified the location as both a launch point for attacks and a key logistics base for insurgent activities.

According to the sources, troops advancing on the objective, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), came under hostile fire. However, the forces tactically outflanked the insurgents and successfully blocked their withdrawal routes.
During the ensuing firefight, 15 terrorists were neutralised, while several others reportedly fled with suspected gunshot wounds.
Security operatives uncovered extensive defensive fortifications at the site and subsequently destroyed identified life-support facilities sustaining the terrorist network. Additionally, five tricycles and two vehicles believed to have been used for operational mobility and logistics were destroyed and set ablaze along with their contents.
Items recovered from the scene included a cache of arms and ammunition, as well as two bandoliers and camel pouches.
The military confirmed that two personnel sustained gunshot wounds during the operation and are currently in stable condition. While the general security situation in the area remains calm, it was described as unpredictable. Troop morale and combat efficiency, according to sources, remain high.
