Troops Rescue 12 Kidnap Victims, Arrest Suspects in Enugu
Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued 12 kidnapped victims and arrested two suspects during a swift security operation in Enugu State, in what authorities described as another success in ongoing efforts to curb kidnapping and criminal activities in the South-East.
The operation was carried out by troops of the 82 Division Garrison operating under Operation EASTERN SANITY following a distress call reporting the abduction of several residents in Ette Community, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area.
According to a statement by the military, the troops swiftly mobilised on Friday, March 6, 2026, in collaboration with operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Forest Guards and members of the Neighbourhood Watch to track down the kidnappers and secure the victims’ release.
On arrival at the suspected hideout in Ette Community, the security team launched aggressive search operations and fighting patrols across the area to locate the abductors.
