Military Arrest 4 Suspected Informants as Terrorists Kill 3 Vigilantes in Kebbi
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, in collaboration with forest rangers, have arrested four suspected terrorist informants, as suspected terrorists killed three vigilante members and injured two civilians in separate incidents across Kebbi State.
The arrests were carried out in the early hours of Wednesday at about 5:00 a.m. in Augie Local Government Area, following credible intelligence on the suspects’ alleged activities within the area. Security sources said troops of the 1 Battalion (Rear), working closely with forest rangers, swiftly mobilised to the location and apprehended the suspects without resistance.
The suspects are currently in custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine their roles and possible links to criminal networks.

Meanwhile, suspected terrorists launched attacks in Bagudo and Kalgo Local Government Areas, leaving three vigilante members dead and two civilians injured.
In Bagudo LGA, armed assailants attacked Kangiwa Village at about 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, killing two vigilantes and injuring two civilians with gunshot wounds. The attackers also set a vigilante outpost ablaze before fleeing the scene.
Troops deployed to the area initiated a pursuit operation along the attackers’ escape route but did not make contact with the fleeing suspects.
In a related incident, a patrol team later discovered the body of another vigilante member who had been killed by terrorists at Birnin Kuka Village in Kalgo LGA.
Security sources said the situation in the affected areas is being closely monitored, with operatives maintaining a strong presence to forestall further attacks.
