NIPR Hails Nasarawa Governor’s Support for PR Education
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has commended the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, for his sustained commitment to the advancement of public relations education and professional development in Nigeria.
The commendation came on Monday in Abuja during a colourful ceremony at the African First Ladies Peace Mission Complex, where the governor was formally invested as a Patron of the Institute.
Speaking at the event, the President and Chairman of NIPR Governing Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, described Governor Sule as a visionary leader whose support for the profession has been both practical and impactful.

Neliaku particularly highlighted the ongoing construction of the University of Public Relations and Leadership in Nasarawa State, noting that it is the first of its kind globally and a landmark achievement for the profession.
According to him, the initiative reflects a forward-thinking approach to institutionalising public relations education and equipping future leaders with the skills required for effective communication and governance.
He added that the Institute’s recognition of the governor is rooted in his clear understanding of the role of strategic communication in shaping national development and global perception.
In his remarks, Governor Sule expressed appreciation to the Institute for the honour, describing it as a call to greater responsibility and continued service.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen professional capacity and enhance Nigeria’s reputation on the global stage.
He also pledged continued collaboration with NIPR in promoting ethical standards and professionalism within the communication sector.
