Troops Eliminate Terror Suspect in Kogi, Arrest Boko Haram Logistics Suppliers in Yobe
Nigerian troops have recorded fresh operational gains in separate security operations across Kogi State and Yobe State, neutralizing a suspected terrorist and disrupting a logistics supply network linked to Boko Haram.
In Kogi State, troops of the 12 Brigade neutralized a suspected terrorist during a fighting patrol in the Odoape–Adankolo Forest in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area. The encounter occurred at about 2:00 p.m. on March 23, 2026, when the patrol team made contact with the fleeing suspect.
Preliminary findings identified the individual as a key operative allegedly involved in providing intelligence for kidnappings, facilitating cattle rustling activities, and supplying materials to terrorist groups.
Meanwhile, in Yobe State, troops of Operation Hadin Kai intercepted a vehicle conveying suspected logistics supplies for insurgents in Yusufari Local Government Area.

The operation, conducted late on March 24 by troops of the 241 Battalion stationed at a Forward Operating Base in Jajimaji, followed a night patrol that led to the interception of two vehicles loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at a filling station in Yusuf Abah.
Security sources disclosed that the vehicles attempted to evade troops on sight, prompting a pursuit. One Golf vehicle was successfully intercepted, while the second escaped.
A search of the intercepted vehicle uncovered seven sacks containing PMS, each holding approximately 77 litres. Four suspects were arrested in connection with the operation, including the driver, Mohammed Idi, 25; a motor boy, Mero Umra, 21; the filling station manager, Hasan Liman, 50; and a security guard, Jibril Audu, 28.
Troops also recovered a cash sum of ₦1.6 million suspected to be proceeds of the illicit supply operation.
All suspects and recovered items are currently in military custody pending further investigation.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining aggressive patrols and intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and safeguarding communities across affected regions.
