Troops Foil Terror Attack, Arrest Suspected Informants in Plateau
Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have repelled a terrorist attack and arrested three suspected informants in separate operations across Plateau State, in a sustained effort to enhance security in the region.
Security sources disclosed that troops successfully thwarted an attempted attack on Pinau community in Wase Local Government Area at about 1:30 a.m. on March 26. Armed assailants reportedly stormed the area but were met with stiff resistance from troops of Sector 2, working in collaboration with local vigilante groups.
The combined forces engaged the attackers with superior firepower, forcing them to retreat without inflicting casualties on residents or security personnel.

“No casualties were recorded during the encounter, and troops are currently conducting thorough exploitation of the area to ensure the safety of residents,” a security source said.
In a related development, troops arrested three suspected terrorist informants in the Agingi area of Bassa Local Government Area on March 25 at about 10:30 p.m.
The suspects—identified as Yusuf Hussaini, 18; Saleh Mohammed, 18; and Muazu Yunusa, 19—were apprehended in possession of three dagger knives. They are currently in custody and undergoing investigation.
Sources noted that the arrests were part of ongoing intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks, curbing insecurity, and safeguarding communities across Plateau State.
The military has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on criminal elements while ensuring the protection of lives and property in the state.
