FRSC Elevates 120 Senior Officers to ACM, CC, DCC to Strengthen Leadership Capacity
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has approved the promotion of 120 senior officers across various cadres in a move aimed at enhancing leadership capacity, institutional efficiency, and service delivery.
The development was contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by the Acting Corps Public Education Officer, Mrs Felicia Kalu.
Kalu stated that the promotions, which take effect from 1 January 2026, were approved by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
According to her, the exercise reflects the Corps’ commitment to building a disciplined, motivated, and performance-driven workforce dedicated to improving road safety outcomes nationwide.
She explained that 19 officers were elevated to the rank of Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM), while 55 Deputy Corps Commanders (DCC) were promoted to Corps Commander (CC). In addition, 46 Assistant Corps Commanders (ACC) were promoted to Deputy Corps Commander (DCC).

The FRSC spokesperson noted that the promotions were based on exemplary service records, leadership competence, and sustained contributions to the operational effectiveness of the Corps.
Reacting to the development, the Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed, congratulated the newly promoted officers, describing the exercise as a reflection of the organisation’s commitment to merit, discipline, and structured career progression.
He urged the beneficiaries to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating higher levels of professionalism, dedication, and leadership in the discharge of their duties.
Mohammed further emphasised that promotion within the Corps should be viewed not merely as recognition, but as an increased responsibility to advance the FRSC mandate of reducing road traffic crashes and promoting safer roads across the country.
He also directed that all newly promoted officers must not wear their new ranks until they are formally decorated, in line with established protocols.
