Troops Arrest Fake Soldiers, Kill 3 Terrorists in Plateau Operations
Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation ENDURING PEACE, have recorded significant operational gains in Plateau State, thwarting violent attacks and neutralising suspected terrorists in coordinated actions across Jos North and Wase Local Government Areas.
The military disclosed that the breakthroughs followed a targeted intervention late Thursday night in Dutse Uku, Jos North, where troops responded to reports of sporadic gunfire around 11:45 p.m. Acting on the distress call, security operatives intercepted two suspects allegedly posing as military personnel.
The suspects, clad in black tactical uniforms, were apprehended while reportedly setting residential buildings ablaze and inciting violence within the community. They are currently in custody for further investigation.
During the operation, two individuals who sustained gunshot injuries were evacuated by troops to a medical facility, where they are said to be in stable condition.

Military authorities stated that the arrest undermines recent claims alleging the involvement of security forces in the unrest in Jos North, noting that criminal elements have been exploiting military-style attire to perpetrate attacks and discredit the Armed Forces.
In a related development, troops deployed to Karem in Wase Local Government Area disrupted the movement of suspected terrorists advancing on motorcycles. The insurgents reportedly fled following a confrontation with troops, who neutralised three of them during the engagement.
The military attributed the improved operational outcomes to the recent deployment of additional forces, including a battalion and specialised counter-terrorism units, ordered by the Chief of Army Staff earlier on Thursday.
According to the task force, the reinforcement has strengthened security presence and enhanced rapid response capabilities in volatile areas, contributing to the containment of emerging threats.
The military reiterated its resolve to dismantle criminal networks operating in the state, warning that all perpetrators of violence would be decisively dealt with.
Residents were urged to remain vigilant and support ongoing security efforts by reporting suspicious activities to relevant authorities, as the operation continues to focus on restoring lasting peace and stability across Plateau State.
