Army, NDLEA Nab 8 Suspected Drug Peddlers in Bayelsa
Troops of the Headquarters 16 Brigade, in collaboration with operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested eight suspects and recovered quantities of illicit drugs during coordinated operations in Bayelsa State.

The raids were carried out at about 10:30 a.m. on April 14 across multiple locations, including Obunagha, Azikoro and Swali in Yenagoa Local Government Area, Amassoma in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, and Imiringi in Ogbia Local Government Area.
A military source said the joint operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 850 grammes of cannabis sativa and 11 grammes of methamphetamine.
The arrested suspects and recovered substances have been handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Security authorities said the operation is part of sustained efforts to combat drug trafficking and associated criminal activities in the Niger Delta region.
