Troops Destroy Bandits’ Camp in Zamfara, Intercept Terrorists Logistics Supplier in Borno
Nigerian troops have recorded significant operational successes in separate offensives targeting terrorist activities in Zamfara and Borno states, reinforcing ongoing efforts to degrade insurgent networks across the North-West and North-East theatres.
In Zamfara State, troops of 1 Brigade, in collaboration with Tactical Command elements and the Multi-Service Task Team, destroyed a suspected terrorist camp in Tsafe Local Government Area during a coordinated offensive operation conducted in the early hours of April 21.
Security sources disclosed that the assault commenced at about 6:00 a.m. following a pre-H-Hour artillery bombardment, with close air support provided by the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA. The troops engaged the terrorists in a firefight, forcing them to flee and abandon their positions.

Subsequently, ground forces exploited the area and successfully demolished the identified camps. No casualties were recorded among the troops during the operation. The offensive forms part of sustained military efforts to dismantle terrorist enclaves and restore stability across Zamfara and the wider North-West region.
In a related development in Borno State, troops of Operation HADIN KAI arrested a suspected logistics supplier linked to ISWAP/JAS and intercepted a large quantity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) concealed for illicit delivery.
The suspect was apprehended at about 9:10 a.m. on the same day by troops of the 159 Battalion at a checkpoint within Sector 2 Area of Responsibility. The PMS, concealed in 15 sacks and disguised with bags of sachet water, was reportedly being transported to Kanama and surrounding communities near Dikwa and Bultuwa—areas known for terrorist activity.
Items recovered from the suspect include a mobile phone and the sum of ₦34,950. The suspect and exhibits are currently in military custody for further investigation.
Security sources indicated that the interception is part of ongoing operations aimed at disrupting terrorist logistics chains and denying insurgents access to critical supplies.
The combined operations underscore the military’s intensified strategy to simultaneously target both operational bases and supply networks of terrorist groups across multiple fronts.
