The elimination of Abu Jirir is regarded as a major setback to ISWAP’s leadership hierarchy within the Lake Chad region, given his strategic role in the group’s decision-making structure.
Sources further revealed that the overall ISWAP commander in the Lake Chad axis, identified as Ba Shuwa, reportedly deployed a recovery team to retrieve the body of the slain commander shortly after the incident.
The team was observed moving in a convoy of approximately 12 motorcycles around the Aljanna Jaule axis during the search operation.
Additional details are expected as ongoing exploitation and intelligence-gathering efforts continue.
