
Military Reassesses Strategy, Targets Improved Security in Adamawa
The Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, has led a high-level operational assessment in Adamawa State as part of efforts to recalibrate military strategy and strengthen security across the North-East.
According to a statement by the Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the three-day visit conducted from April 30 to May 2, 2026, focused on evaluating the operational readiness of Sector 4 and enhancing collaboration with the Adamawa State Government in response to evolving threats.
The statement said that during an engagement at the Government House in Yola, the Adamawa State Government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting military operations through investments in technology, surveillance systems, and community-based security structures.

It quoted the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, who represented Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, as commending the military’s efforts and pledging sustained collaboration to maintain peace and stability in the state.
Uba stated that Major General Abubakar explained that the visit was aimed at addressing emerging threats and strengthening ongoing operations, noting that Sector 4, established in August 2025, plays a critical role in bridging security gaps between Southern Borno and Northern Adamawa.
The statement further noted that the Theatre Commander highlighted the need for a multi-layered approach combining troop deployment, technology, and community engagement, while also disclosing that additional military formations and special forces have been approved to boost operational effectiveness.
He also urged troops, hunters, and vigilantes to heighten vigilance, warning that intensified operations in other sectors could push hostile elements into new areas.
The statement added that the visit is part of ongoing efforts to reassess and reinforce security strategies aimed at ensuring lasting peace and stability across the North-East region.
