Military sources disclosed that troops encountered armed terrorists at Tungar Magaji, where they engaged them with superior firepower. Two terrorists were neutralised in the encounter, while others fled the scene.
Subsequent exploitation of the area led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle with a loaded magazine containing 30 rounds of ammunition, as well as a motorcycle believed to have been used by the fleeing suspects.
The operations form part of an ongoing campaign to dismantle terrorist hideouts within the Bagega–Sunke forest corridor, a known enclave for criminal elements in the state.
Operation FANSAN YAMMA reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist groups and restoring security across affected communities. The military also called on residents to support ongoing efforts by providing timely and credible intelligence to security agencies.
