FRSC Patrol Recovers Stolen Car in Edo State
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has successfully recovered a stolen vehicle in Edo State through its intelligence-driven patrol operations.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 14, 2026, when the RS5.13 Iruekpen Unit Command received a distress report about a gold Toyota Camry (RBC 987 CM) stolen from a church in Benin City.
Acting swiftly, the patrol team activated its intelligence and surveillance network, monitoring vehicular movements along major routes. The stolen car was later sighted, intercepted, and secured.
The suspect in possession of the vehicle claimed to be a delivery agent but was arrested after preliminary investigations and handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further interrogation.

FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed commended the patrol team’s swift response, noting that the recovery underscores the Corps’ role in supporting national security through intelligence gathering and inter-agency collaboration.
He stressed that FRSC patrols go beyond traffic management, serving as “eyes and ears” on highways, helping to detect stolen vehicles, apprehend suspects, rescue crash victims, and provide timely intelligence to security agencies.
The Corps highlighted that such proactive operations strengthen public safety, deter criminal activities, and build confidence in Nigeria’s road transport system.
Motorists and citizens were encouraged to report suspicious activities and emergencies promptly through FRSC’s communication channels for immediate intervention.
