Troops Intercept Terrorists, Rescue 6 Abducted Victims in Sokoto Operation
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued six kidnapped victims during a counter-terrorism operation in Sokoto State after intercepting three suspected terrorists transporting the captives.
Security sources disclosed that the operation took place in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area, where the terrorists were moving the victims from Kure village on three motorcycles.
According to the report, the terrorists abandoned the kidnapped victims and fled into nearby bushes after sighting the advancing troops, leaving the captives unharmed.

The rescued victims were identified as Usman, 24; Baba Usman, 56; Hassan, 22; Sunusi, 23; Abdullahi Yahaya, 28; and Sule, 15.
Military authorities said the swift intervention by the troops prevented the victims from being taken to an unknown destination and underscored the sustained operational pressure being mounted against terrorist elements operating in the North-West.
The victims are currently in safe custody, while arrangements are being made to reunite them with their respective families.
Meanwhile, troops have continued efforts to track down the fleeing terrorists as Operation FANSAN YAMMA sustains offensive operations aimed at degrading terrorist networks and restoring security across Sokoto State and the wider North-West region.
