Troops Overrun Terrorists’ Camp in Zamfara, Rescue Five Kidnap Victims
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have overrun a makeshift terrorist camp in Tungan Kudaduku, Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State, rescuing five kidnapped victims during a counter-terrorism operation.
The operation was carried out by troops deployed for counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operations following credible intelligence that a group of terrorists riding 10 motorcycles had been sighted in Kawaye and were heading towards Tungan Kudaduku.

Acting on the intelligence, the troops immediately launched a fighting patrol to intercept the suspected terrorists. Upon making contact, they engaged the criminals in a fierce gun battle, forcing them to abandon their position and flee into the surrounding area.
A follow-up search of the location led to the discovery of the terrorists’ makeshift camp, where five kidnapped victims were found and rescued unharmed.
Military authorities said troops have continued to maintain a strong operational presence in the area to prevent the terrorists from regrouping or carrying out further attacks.
The latest operation underscores the ongoing efforts of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to dismantle terrorist hideouts, disrupt criminal activities, and enhance security across Zamfara State and the wider North-West region
