Troops Arrest 7 Suspected Terrorist Collaborators, Seize Motorcycles in Borno, Kebbi
Troops of the Nigerian military have arrested seven suspected terrorist collaborators in separate intelligence-led operations in Borno and Kebbi states, disrupting suspected intelligence and logistics networks supporting insurgent and bandit activities in the North-East and North-West.
Military sources said the operations, conducted under Operation HADIN KAI and Operation FANSAN YAMMA, form part of sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist support structures and cut off supplies to criminal groups.
In Borno State, troops of Operation HADIN KAI arrested a suspected terrorist spy identified as Sheriff Modu during an intelligence-led operation on July 20.
Security sources disclosed that the suspect was apprehended at about 1:30 p.m. by troops of the 19 Brigade following actionable intelligence obtained from Muhammad Mustapha, a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP member arrested by troops of the 403 Amphibious Brigade in Baga on July 17.
Investigations reportedly linked Sheriff Modu to the earlier suspect, prompting troops to track and arrest him.
The suspect is currently undergoing interrogation by operatives of the 19 Military Intelligence Regiment (19 MIR) at Cross Kauwa as investigators work to identify other members of the alleged terrorist intelligence network operating within the Lake Chad region.

In a separate operation in Kebbi State, troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, arrested six suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and intercepted 10 brand-new Honda motorcycles allegedly being transported to a notorious terrorist leader.
The operation was conducted on July 20 along the Biu–Kangiwa axis in Arewa Local Government Area after troops intercepted a white commercial bus conveying the motorcycles, which were packaged in cartons.
Two suspects, identified as Salisu Mohammad, 35, and Bashir Musa, 36, were initially arrested during the interception.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the motorcycles were allegedly destined for a suspected terrorist kingpin, identified as Mallam Gehowa, believed to be operating around the Amogoro axis.
Acting on intelligence gathered from the initial arrests, troops launched a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of four additional suspects allegedly sent by the terrorist syndicate to receive the consignment.
The operation was completed without resistance or casualties.
Military authorities said the six suspects, the 10 motorcycles, and the commercial bus used to transport the consignment have been handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kebbi State for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The military described both operations as significant successes in ongoing counter-terrorism efforts, noting that disrupting intelligence and logistics networks remains critical to weakening the operational capabilities of terrorist and armed criminal groups across the country.
