NAF Precision Airstrike Destroys Terrorists Hideout, Neutralises Scores in Borno
The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has destroyed a suspected terrorist hideout and neutralised its occupants during a precision airstrike in Borno State, as part of ongoing military operations against insurgents in the North-East.
Intelligence sources disclosed that the operation was carried out in the early hours of July 20 following actionable intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) that detected suspicious terrorist activities around KLA Balia in the Lake Chad region.
According to the sources, an ISR platform, codenamed GUARDIAN, established overhead surveillance over the target area at about 5:35 a.m. and confirmed the presence of suspected terrorists before clearance was granted for the strike.

The combat aircraft subsequently executed a precision airstrike, accurately hitting the identified hideout.
A Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) conducted immediately after the operation revealed that the targeted structure was completely destroyed and engulfed in flames. Military assessments indicated that all suspected terrorists inside the building were neutralised.
The aircraft remained over the area for a short period to monitor the aftermath of the strike before returning to base upon successful completion of the mission.
Military sources said the airstrike forms part of Operation HADIN KAI’s sustained air interdiction campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure, disrupting insurgent activities, and denying terrorists freedom of movement across the North-East.
