Four Ilorin Indigenes Attain SAN Rank — Emir Extends Congratulations
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, has congratulated four distinguished legal practitioners of Ilorin Emirate origin on their elevation to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
In a congratulatory message issued by his spokesman, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir described the elevation as a fitting recognition of the recipients’ outstanding professional accomplishments, unwavering commitment to justice, and years of dedicated service to the legal profession.
The four Ilorin Emirate indigenes elevated to the rank of SAN in the 2026 list released by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) are Kwara State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Sulyman Ibrahim, SAN-designate; Barrister Mas’ud Alabelewe, SAN-designate; Barrister Mohammed Adelodun, SAN-designate; and Barrister Afeez Hassan Adebayo, SAN-designate.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari noted that the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria represents the highest professional distinction for legal practitioners who have demonstrated exceptional advocacy, integrity and excellence in the practice of law.

He said the emergence of four Ilorin Emirate indigenes on the 2026 SAN list was a source of pride to the Emirate and Kwara State, describing it as evidence of the enduring tradition of excellence and scholarship associated with the people of Ilorin.
The Emir urged the newly elevated Senior Advocates to continue to uphold the ethics, integrity and highest standards of the legal profession while serving as mentors and role models for younger lawyers.
“On behalf of the Ilorin Emirate and the entire people of Kwara State, I rejoice with these legal luminaries on this well-deserved elevation. May Almighty Allah grant them greater wisdom, strength and guidance to continue contributing meaningfully to the administration of justice and the development of our nation,” the monarch said.
He also commended the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee for sustaining the tradition of recognising excellence and merit in the legal profession, noting that the selection of the four Ilorin indigenes reflected their outstanding contributions to the Bar.
The Emir concluded by praying for Almighty Allah’s continued guidance, protection and success for the new Senior Advocates as they assume greater responsibilities in the service of justice, humanity and the nation.
