PSC Appoints New POLAC Commandant, Redeploys 8 CPs to State Commands
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Auwal Musa Mohammed as the new Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State, alongside the deployment of eight Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various state commands.
The Commission said the postings are aimed at addressing operational requirements arising from the promotion of former state commissioners.
A statement issued on Wednesday by the PSC’s Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Torty Njoku Kalu, said AIG Mohammed brings over 33 years of policing experience spanning operations, investigations, intelligence-led policing and training.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Bayero University, Kano. During his career, he served as Commandant of the Police College, Maiduguri, Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, and Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zones 3 and 6. He is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
The newly deployed Commissioners of Police are CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo to Abia State, CP Ayodeji Faniyan to Plateau State, CP Saka Adewale Ajao to Bayelsa State, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue to Cross River State, CP Nnanna Oji Ama to Anambra State, CP Patrick Daaor to Edo State, CP Tijani Murtala to Jigawa State, and CP Samuel Erale Etaifo to Delta State.
During the Commission’s meeting, Board Member and Commissioner I, retired Justice Paul Adamu Galumje, who presided over the session, charged the newly posted officers to uphold professionalism, remain politically neutral and operate strictly within the confines of the law.
He urged the senior police officers to discharge their responsibilities with diligence while respecting the rule of law in the execution of their duties.
Other members of the Commission present at the meeting included Alhaji Abdulfatah Mohammed, retired Justice Christine Ladi Dabup, and the Secretary to the Commission, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani.
