Tijaniyya Supreme Council Condoles Tinubu Over Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s Death
The Supreme Council of Tijaniyya Worldwide has paid a condolence visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the death of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the late former leader of the Tijaniyya Islamic organisation in Nigeria.
The delegation, which comprised representatives from Algeria, Nigeria and Senegal, also included members of the Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Foundation led by Khalifa Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
The delegation, representing the Tijaniyya organisation, was received by President Tinubu at the State House in Abuja on Friday.
The Khalifa of Tijaniyya from Algeria, Sheikh Ali Bin Arabi, delivered the condolence message on behalf of the delegation.

Bin Arabi acknowledged the longstanding relationship and shared social and economic ties between Nigeria and Algeria, expressing hope that the spiritual bond between the two countries would continue to grow.
“We will continue to pray for the sustenance of the spiritual relationship between Nigeria and Algeria,” he said.
He also prayed for peace and love in Nigeria, as well as the physical and spiritual wellbeing of President Tinubu.
Responding, President Tinubu thanked the delegation for the condolence visit and paid tribute to the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.
“We miss our father, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi. He was a beloved father and a great leader,” the President said.
Tinubu also commended the Tijaniyya movement for its spiritual activities and contributions to Islam in Africa and beyond.
“I respect you for what you are doing for Islam across Africa and the whole world. May God continue to guide you,” he said.
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi died on November 26, 2025, at the age of 98.
