Tinubu Orders Immediate Rescue of Mass-Abducted Niger Residents
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS) and other relevant security and intelligence agencies to immediately commence a coordinated operation to rescue victims of the recent mass abduction in Niger State.
The President, in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, expressed outrage over the abduction and killing of innocent citizens by criminal elements in the state.
Tinubu described the attack as a cowardly assault on defenceless Nigerians, stressing that those responsible would be brought to justice.
“Those who carried out this cowardly attack on defenceless Nigerians are enemies of peace and enemies of humanity, who will not go scot-free,” the President said.
He extended his condolences to the families of those killed in the attack and prayed for the repose of the victims’ souls and strength for their bereaved relatives.
Tinubu also assured the families of the abducted victims that the Federal Government was committed to securing their safe return.

The President also assured the people and government of Niger State of the Federal Government’s support, including measures to strengthen security, facilitate recovery and provide relief to affected communities.
