DHQ Disowns AI-Generated Video Attributed to CDS Oluyede
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has disowned an AI-generated video circulating online and purportedly showing the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyede, making statements suggesting partisan political support.
The DHQ, in a statement issued on Thursday, described the video as fake and said it did not emanate from the CDS.
The Director, Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, said the statements attributed to General Oluyede in the video were false and should be completely disregarded.

According to him, the video was created through artificial intelligence-generated manipulation, apparently designed to deceive the public, misrepresent the position of the CDS and bring the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) into disrepute.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the Armed Forces of Nigeria remains a professional, apolitical and non-partisan institution, committed to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the defence of the nation,” Uba said.
The Defence Headquarters strongly condemned the creation and circulation of the fabricated video, warning those behind its production and individuals knowingly amplifying the material to desist immediately.
The military authorities urged members of the public not to rely on the video and to disregard any claims contained in it.
The DHQ also advised Nigerians to obtain information concerning the Armed Forces of Nigeria and its leadership only through official Defence Headquarters communication channels.
