NAF Trains 459 Personnel to Bolster Force Protection, Operational Readiness
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has graduated 459 Regiment personnel trained in specialized force protection operations as part of efforts to strengthen its operational readiness and capacity to respond to evolving national security threats.
The graduates comprised 10 officers and 449 airmen and airwomen who completed their training at the NAF Regiment Training Centre in Kaduna.
The graduation ceremony was held on Friday, September 4, 2026.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, represented by the Chief of Training, Headquarters NAF, Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Dari, stressed the importance of effective force protection to sustained airpower projection and the security of critical military and national assets.
Aneke said the NAF remained committed to deliberate, mission-oriented training and personnel development aimed at producing agile, resilient and combat-ready forces capable of operating effectively in complex security environments.

He noted that the enhanced capabilities acquired by the graduates would contribute to ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations, while improving the protection of NAF installations, personnel and other critical national assets.
The Chief of the Air Staff charged the newly graduated personnel to maintain discipline, courage, teamwork and vigilance as they return to their respective units.
He said their professionalism and readiness would be critical to the NAF’s efforts to safeguard lives, protect national assets and support broader national security operations.
Also speaking, the Commandant of the Regiment Training Centre, Air Vice Marshal Isaac Subi, expressed confidence that the training had equipped the personnel with enhanced skills to contribute effectively to operational assignments.
Subi reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to providing quality and professional military training capable of meeting the demands of contemporary security operations.
The graduation is expected to further strengthen the NAF’s force protection capability and its ability to sustain air operations in support of Nigeria’s counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency efforts.
