Lagos Police Arrest Four Suspected Armed Robbers, Recover 25 Phones, Laptops, Gold Jewellery
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) have arrested four suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate operating around the Iju-Ishaga and Oke-Aro areas of the state.
The suspects were arrested at their hideout in Idi-Oro, Mushin, following sustained intelligence gathering by the police.
The suspects were identified as Damilare Oluwatobi, 28; Lekan Adenuga, 30; Haruna Sheriff, 22; and David Balogun, 24.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said operatives recovered 25 mobile phones, two laptop computers, gold necklace and earrings, as well as three cutlasses during a search of the suspects’ hideout.
The statement said the arrests followed credible intelligence on the activities of the suspected robbery syndicate.

“The suspects are currently in Police custody and are assisting with the ongoing investigation,” the statement said.
The command added that efforts were being intensified to arrest other members of the syndicate who might be connected to the alleged criminal activities.
Commending the VCRU operatives for their swift response and intelligence-led operation, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks across the state.
Fatai also assured residents of the command’s continued efforts to safeguard lives and property, while urging members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the police.
