US Delivers New Military Equipment to Nigeria to Boost Anti-Terror Fight
The United States has delivered additional military equipment to the Nigerian Air Force as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s capacity to combat terrorism and other security threats in the region.
The United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) disclosed this in a statement posted on its official X account on Thursday.
According to the command, the equipment was transported aboard a US Air Force C-17 aircraft and delivered over the weekend under a Foreign Military Sales agreement between the United States and Nigeria.
AFRICOM said the delivery underscored the continued defence partnership between both countries and would support Nigeria’s counter-terrorism operations.

The latest delivery comes amid sustained military operations by Nigerian security forces against terrorist groups, bandits and other armed groups operating in different parts of the country.
The United States has maintained security cooperation with Nigeria through defence equipment transfers, military training, intelligence cooperation and other forms of capacity-building aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s ability to address terrorism and regional security challenges.
The development also reflects the broader US-Nigeria security partnership, particularly in strengthening the capabilities of Nigeria’s armed forces to respond to evolving threats in West Africa.
