Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Suppliers, Informant, Seize Motorcycles in Borno, Sokoto
Troops have arrested three suspected members of terrorist support networks in separate operations in Borno and Sokoto states, recovering a large consignment of motorcycle spare parts, a motorcycle, mobile phones and cash.
In Borno, troops of 159 Battalion, working with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), arrested two suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and intercepted a consignment of motorcycle spare parts allegedly destined for terrorist elements in Mobbar Local Government Area.
The suspects were apprehended at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, while allegedly transporting the items from Asaye Village in Damasak.
The recovered consignment included 50 motorcycle tyres, 10 crankshafts, 50 oil seals, 31 traffic indicators, 49 acceleration cables, 46 clutch cables, 20 spindles, 10 packs of bearings, 20 brake rods and 75 gaskets.
Other items recovered were 80 piston kits, 146 chains and sprockets, 11 speedometers, 15 clutch plates, piston rings, rocker arms, CDI units, shock rubbers, coils, rectifiers, fuel taps and filters, among several other motorcycle components.

The troops also recovered 24 hand pumps, ignition keys, complete clutches, clutch levers, Super KG spare parts and 145 pairs of footwear, as well as three mobile phones and ₦3,200 in cash.
The suspects and recovered items were subsequently handed over to the 27 Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation.
In a separate operation in Sokoto State, troops of the 8 Guards Task Force (GTF) Administration operating from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Denge Shuni arrested a suspected terrorist informant in Denge Shuni Local Government Area.
The suspect was apprehended at about 11:45 a.m. on September 8 during an operation in the community.
Troops recovered a Tecno mobile phone, a motorcycle and ₦195,200 in cash from the suspect. He and the recovered items were handed over to the 8 Military Intelligence Brigade for interrogation and further investigation.
The operations highlight the military’s growing focus on disrupting the support networks that sustain terrorist activities, including logistics suppliers, informants and other suspected collaborators.
Security forces are expected to intensify intelligence-led operations in both axes to identify additional members of the networks and disrupt the supply of information, mobility equipment and other resources to terrorist groups.
