Troops Rescue 10 Abducted Victims as Terrorists Flee in Katsina
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued 10 civilians abducted by armed terrorists in Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The victims were rescued on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, following a swift military operation launched after reports of the abduction of residents from Unguwan Daudu and Unguwan Chibauna communities.
Following the receipt of actionable intelligence, troops deployed around the Sabuwa axis were immediately mobilised to intercept the fleeing terrorists and rescue the victims.

The sustained pursuit by the troops reportedly forced the terrorists to abandon their captives, allowing the soldiers to safely recover all 10 victims.
The rescued civilians comprised three adult males, six females and an infant.
The victims are expected to be handed over to the Sabuwa Local Government authorities for medical evaluation and necessary support before being reunited with their respective families.
The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by security forces under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt terrorist activities and rescue civilians held captive across the region.
