Police Provide Anambra Hotlines, Nab Suspects for Stabbing Abuja Lady

Police Provide Anambra Hotlines for Emergencies

Following directives by the Inspector -general of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, NPM, mni to replicate operation “Puff -Adder” in all the State Commands throughout the Federation, the Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command CP Mustapha Dandaura has today 9/5/2019 launched “Operation puff – Adder” “Crime bursting outfits at Okpoko Division, Onitsha in Anambra State.

The occasion was attended by representative of the Anambra State Government Prof Solo Chukwulobelu,Heads of Sister Security Agencies,Chairman Anambra State vigilante Supervisory Committee CP IK Ayo Aduba(RTD).

Other dignitaries who graced the occasion includes traditional rulers, President Generals (PGS) Okpoko and Ogbauru Communities, Eminent Persons forum, Police Community Relations commitee (PCRC,)Police Assistance Committee, Civil Society organizations and other well meaning individuals in the State.

Consequently, the following are emergency operational lines availed to members of the Public especially those in Onitsha for prompt response to distress calls.

Police Nab Suspects of Stabbing Esther Okah to Death
On the 5th May, 2019 at about 0300hrs one Esther Nasikah Okah was stabbed at CBN junction ungwan cement Karimo by an unknown assailant on her way home after a dinner outing with friends at Gwarimpa.

One of her friends from the dinner Mr. Gokhan Boyaci a Turkish national of Dutse Alhaji who gave her the ride stated that after the dinner he assisted to drop her at life-camp, on reaching life-camp she stated her house was further down around Karimo on reaching the CBN junction she asked him to stop so that she can ask, the three men standing by the road side of her location in the process one of the men sighted her bag in the vehicle and tried to remove it which led to a struggle and he stabbed her on the neck twice.

Mr. Gokhan Boyaci then tried to help but he was equally stabbed with the injuries he was able to drive off from scene to a clinic in gwarimpa where she was given first aid and advised to be taken to the National Hospital for further treatment.

On arrival at the National Hospital efforts were made to save her but she was confirmed dead. He then went and reported the incident at the Karimo Divisional Headquarters. Investigation into the incident have since commenced.

Eight (8) suspects were arrested in connection with the crime and are helping Police to unravel the killers.

The Commissioner of Police FCT will like reassure the public of the Command commitment to checkmating crimes and criminalities, while urging members of the public to continue supporting the police with useful information.
