Nigerian Navy Disowns Fake 2026 Batch 39 Recruitment Notice
The Nigerian Navy has disowned a recruitment notice circulating on social media, purportedly announcing the commencement of its 2026 Batch 39 recruitment exercise.
The Director of Naval Information, Capt. Abiodun Folorunsho, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, describing the circulating information as unauthorised and warning members of the public against relying on it.
Folorunsho urged prospective applicants to exercise caution and disregard recruitment-related information obtained from unofficial social media accounts, websites and other unauthorised sources.
He explained that authentic information concerning Nigerian Navy recruitment, including eligibility criteria, application procedures, timelines and available categories, would only be released through the service’s authorised communication channels.

The naval spokesman further cautioned members of the public against making payments to individuals, agents or unauthorised platforms in connection with recruitment, emphasising that the exercise was free of charge.
“The Nigerian Navy does not authorise third parties to recruit applicants or collect recruitment fees on its behalf,” he said.
Folorunsho reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment to maintaining a transparent and credible recruitment process, assuring the public that timely and accurate updates would continue to be disseminated through official channels.
He advised prospective applicants to verify all recruitment-related information through the Nigerian Navy’s official platforms to avoid falling victim to fraudsters.
