Again, Operation FANSAN YAMMA Troops Rescue 41 Travellers from Bandits in Zamfara
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued 41 travellers abducted by bandits after their commercial vehicle broke down along a major highway in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation, according to a statement on the incident, followed actionable intelligence indicating that armed bandits had targeted the stranded vehicle and attempted to move its occupants into the surrounding area.

The commercial vehicle, which was travelling from Senegal to Kano State, reportedly developed a mechanical fault while on the highway, providing an opportunity for the bandits to attack the occupants.
Upon receiving the intelligence, the troops swiftly mobilised to the location and engaged the armed group, forcing the suspects to abandon the victims and flee into nearby farmlands.
The 41 travellers, comprising 24 males, 10 females and seven children, were subsequently rescued unharmed.
The rescued persons are currently receiving necessary support and are expected to be reunited with their families and relevant transit authorities.
Meanwhile, troops have maintained an active presence in the area as efforts continue to ensure the safety of travellers along the route and track down the fleeing suspects.
