NAF Takes Delivery of Two New H125 Helicopters to Boost Operation
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of two newly acquired H125 helicopters from Airbus Helicopters, in a move aimed at strengthening its rotary-wing capability and enhancing operational air support.
The Aircraft Acceptance Documents for the helicopters were formally signed on October 2, 2026, at the 355 Rotary Wing, Ikeja, Lagos.
The documents were signed on behalf of the Chief of Logistics, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, by the Commander, 643 Equipment Supply Depot, Air Commodore E. Akintunde, alongside a senior representative of Airbus Helicopters.

The two helicopters were reassembled locally by the NAF with technical support from Airbus Helicopters, marking another step in the service’s efforts to expand and sustain its rotary-wing fleet.
The NAF said the acquisition would provide additional capacity for responsive air support operations, enabling the service to deploy rotary-wing assets where and when required.
The acceptance process, according to the Air Force, also demonstrates its commitment to internationally recognised standards in aircraft acquisition and fleet management.
It added that the development reinforces the service’s emphasis on professionalism, operational integrity and capability development in support of effective airpower projection.
The H125 is a member of Airbus Helicopters’ light single-engine helicopter family and is widely used for missions requiring versatility, including utility, surveillance and transport operations.
