After 2026 GWA, IPRA Admits Emirate 98.5 CEO Arowona as Member
The International Public Relations Association (IPRA) has admitted the Managing Director/CEO of Emirate 98.5 FM, Ilorin, Dr AbdulAzeez Arowona, as a member of the global professional body for public relations practitioners.
Arowona’s admission was confirmed in a Certificate of Membership signed by the 2026 IPRA President, Esther Amba Numaba Cobbah, following the 2026 edition of the IPRA Golden World Awards (GWA).
IPRA, headquartered in London, has members across more than 80 countries and promotes professional, ethical and strategic standards in public relations and communication.
The association’s membership brings together communication professionals committed to advancing the practice of public relations and upholding professional and ethical standards.

Cobbah, a Ghanaian communication professional, is the first Ghanaian and first West African to serve as president of the 70-year-old association. She is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Communications Africa Ltd. (Stratcomm Africa) and assumed the IPRA presidency during the 2025 Golden World Awards Gala Dinner in Accra, Ghana.
Reacting to his admission, Arowona described the membership as a call to greater responsibility in promoting ethical communication and professional excellence.
He also expressed appreciation to the Managing Director/CEO of Image Merchants Promotion Limited, publishers of PRNigeria, Malam Yushau A. Shuaib, for his support, endorsement and efforts towards his admission into the association.
Arowona is the spokesman to the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR.
He is also a broadcaster, public relations strategist and entrepreneur, with several professional and industry awards to his credit.
His admission into IPRA adds him to the association’s international network of communication professionals working to promote ethical public relations, dialogue and understanding across different sectors and communities.
