Troops Nab Three Suspected Kidnappers, Kill Five Others in Kaduna Operations
Troops of Sector 7, Sub-Sector 71, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have arrested three suspected kidnappers and killed five other suspects during an encounter with members of an alleged criminal syndicate in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The latest development followed a series of operations by troops deployed at Wasa Station and other locations within the area.
According to security sources, the three suspects arrested at Ungwan Haruna Village on October 5 were identified as 25-year-old Nura Manu, 26-year-old Alhassan Yari Samaila and 28-year-old Abdullahi Abubakar.
The suspects were apprehended at about 8:30 a.m. and were reportedly on the wanted list of security agencies over their alleged involvement in kidnapping activities within Sanga and neighbouring communities.
The sources said five other suspected kidnappers and criminals arrested by troops on October 2 and 5 were subsequently subjected to further interrogation.

During questioning, the suspects allegedly confessed to involvement in several kidnapping incidents and other criminal activities and agreed to lead troops to their hideouts to facilitate the recovery of weapons and arrest of other members of the syndicate.
However, at about 8:22 p.m. on October 5, while troops were moving towards the suspected hideouts, they reportedly encountered other members of the syndicate, triggering an exchange of gunfire.
The five suspects being taken to the hideouts were killed during the encounter, while other members of the alleged syndicate fled the area.
No casualty was recorded among the troops.
The three suspects arrested separately remain in custody and are undergoing interrogation as security agencies investigate their alleged involvement in kidnapping and other criminal activities.
Meanwhile, security forces have intensified efforts to track down and apprehend the fleeing members of the criminal syndicate as operations continue across Sanga Local Government Area.
