Troops of the Nigerian military’s Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, have killed 48 terrorists and recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition following separate engagements with insurgents in Borno and Yobe states.
The operations, which took place between October 29 and 30, 2026, foiled attempted attacks on military positions in Bitta, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, and the North East Theatre Training School (NETTS), Buni Yadi, Gujba LGA of Yobe State.
The Acting Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Mohammed Goni, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
According to the statement, troops repelled an attempted terrorist assault on their position in Bitta on the night of October 29 through a coordinated response involving ground forces and air support, inflicting heavy casualties on the attackers.
In a separate engagement, troops launched a counter-offensive against a large concentration of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters who attacked NETTS, Buni Yadi, from October 29 into the early hours of October 30.
