NSCDC Promotes 17,000 Senior Officers, Sanctions 66 Personnel Over Misconduct
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has sanctioned 66 personnel for various disciplinary offences, including misconduct, while confirming the approval of promotions for approximately 17,000 senior officers.
The Commandant-General of the Corps, Prof. Abubakar Ahmed Audi, disclosed this on Friday during a press conference at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja.
Audi said the disciplinary measures, which include dismissal, reduction in rank, suspension and warning, followed official communication from the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) after its meeting.
He explained that the affected personnel were subjected to established disciplinary procedures, including investigations and proceedings before the Orderly Room as well as the Senior and Junior Officers’ Disciplinary Committees.

In a related development, Audi confirmed that the Corps had received the list of approximately 17,000 senior officers approved for promotion, following an earlier announcement by the Ministry of Interior and the CDCFIB.
He assured eligible officers that the promotion list would be made public and communicated to beneficiaries in due course.
The NSCDC boss reiterated the Corps’ commitment to institutional discipline, professional excellence and improved service delivery, particularly in safeguarding lives, property and critical national assets.
