NPS Protects Human Rights of Prison Inmates- Don
The Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) has yet received another commendation as the best arm of the Criminal Justice System in record keeping and management.
Professor Ernest Ojukwu SAN made this assertion while presenting a paper at the Stakeholder’s Forum for the Review of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law(2010) (ACJL) of Anambra State organized by RoLAC in conjunction with the Anambra State Government on Friday 31st May, 2019 in Awka.
He further praised the NPS for being the “best collaborator” in the Administration of Criminal Justice for her great concern over the welfare and human rights of the inmates under her custody.

Other notable speakers who agreed with this assertion in their individual presentations were the Director of Public Prosecutions Anambra State Osunkwor Emmanuel Esq, Professor Ikpeze(Dean Faculty of Law NAU Awka), and AC Anienugwu SAN.
The stakeholder’s forum which witnessed the presence of many dignitaries and Institutions including high court judges, magistrates,the Nigerian Prisons, Police, DSS, the State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice was organized to look into the sections of the Law that needs to be reviewed.
In his closing remarks,the Chairperson of the Anambra State Justice Sector Reform Team, Justice Peter Obiorah appreciated the response and input from the various stakeholders as well as encouraged all actors in the CJS to be objective in their various duties to deliver the type of Justice the common man will be proud of.
