Public Officers Bag National Productivity Award
In recognition of her contributions to efficient public service delivery and selfless service to the nation, President Muhammadu Buhari has conferred the National Productivity Order of Merit Award on the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Barr. Georgina Ehuriah MON.
The President conferred the award on Barr. Ehuriah, alongside 24 individuals and 7 organisations, today in Abuja, at the 18th National Productivity Day Celebration and Conferment of National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) Award, with the theme, ‘Productivity for National Re-Engineering, Security and Growth,’ organised by the National Productivity Centre.
President Muhammadu Buhari, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha charged all the awardees to redouble their efforts towards moving the country to the paths of growth and development.

In her remarks after receiving the award, Barr. Ehuriah advised Civil Servants to continue to contribute their quota to the development of Nigeria, through effective service delivery, saying it is only by being productive that the country can move forward.
The Permanent Secretary added that the only legacy civil servants could leave for the upcoming generation is a culture of dedication and selfless service to the nation.
She called on civil servants, particularly those in the Ministry of Interior and all its agencies, to join hands with her in supporting the Minister, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, to continue to drive critical government policies, programmes and projects, with the view to ensuring effective internal security in Nigeria.
President Muhammadu Buhari also conferred the NPOM Award on the Secretary, Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Al-Hassan Yakmut, in recognition of his hard work, excellent duties and productivity at the Board.
Earlier in his remarks, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, said a total of 333 individuals and 90 organisations have received the NPOM Award since its inception in 1991.
He added that the National Productivity Award is one of the flagship points of government to reward excellence in the service, with the aim of promoting healthy competition among workers.
