YULETIDE: Controller Inspects Correctional Facilities for Maximum.Security

The Controller of Corrections Edo State Command Joseph Usendiah inspects Correctional facilities in the Command. This is in a bid to ensure security at the Yuletide season and for proper discharge of the mandate of the Nigerian Correctional Service.

In the course of the Inspection, security apparatus, issues of manpower distribution and welfare; operational effectiveness, compliance and complaints; inmates care, training and performance, etc were given attention and appraised.

The Controller addressed the Officers and men of the Command to up their game by being more committed in the discharge of their duty. He also warned that any form of illegality is a license for sanctions that may include dismissal and further prosecution.

Inmates in the various custodial centres were encouraged to take advantage of their time in custody to upgrade in knowledge, trainings and skills as made available for their Reformation and Rehabilitation.

CCs Usendiah encouraged the inmates as he informed them that a total of 8 inmates in d command were successful in Trade Tests in various trades of their choice learnt while in the Custodial Centres. He advised them to toe the line of Corrections to be successful in life as championed by the indefatigable Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service CG Ja’afaru Ahmed.

Five (5) Custodial Centres, two (2) Farm Centres, a Kennel Unit, 2 Cottage industries and other formations were visited.

The Controller of Corrections J. E. Usendiah is wishing the Staff, inmates and the good people of Edo State a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance.
