NBCC Seeks Partnership with the Military

Nigerian Bangladeshi Chambers of Commerce, NBCC has sought for partnership with the Nigerian Army in exploring business opportunities in pharmaceuticals, textiles, agriculture among others, saying the partnership would be part of effort to open up Nigeria to quality and affordable products in Bangladesh.

The call was made by its president, Navy Captain Usman Hamidu (rtd) when he led the delegation of NBCC members on Thursday to the Nigerian Army headquarters in Abuja.

Hamidu said Bangladesh has many explorable areas such as ship building, agricultural facilities, textile industry, ICT amongst others, which if properly harnessed, it would have mutually beneficial cooperation between the both parties.

He added that army hospitals could have access to quality and affordable drugs and other consumables from the Bangladesh pharmaceutical companies while the textile industries can afford the Nigerian Army with durable and quality productions of military uniforms.

He said, even though the Nigerian Army’s uniform is domesticated, if NBCC could offer a quality one with lower prices, Nigerian Army would like to patronise them.

Meanwhile, in the area of warship building, Adeosun acknowledged that Bangladesh is known internationally for the manufacturing of quality warships, with a lower price.

He also added that the NA may consider to partner NBCC in the area of agriculture development and barracks investment initiative .

“We look forward for more avenue to partner in areas that would further advance the course of agricultural development in Nigeria in line with the NA’s desire to contribute positively in this regard,” he assured.
