Retired Officer Donates Medical Items to War College
A Member of Faculty, Army War College Nigeria Brigadier General Gakji Shipi retired donated some medical equipment to the College.
Speaking during the event, Brigadier General Shipi said the donation was inspired by his experience in the College as well as the leadership style of the Commandant whom he served with at 32 Artillery Brigade Akure as his Chief of Staff. He observed that the Commandant who was the Brigade Commander made a lot of sacrifice in improving facilities in the barracks.
Receiving the items on behalf of the College, the Commandant, Major General Charles Ofoche expressed appreciation for the kind gesture by the retired senior officer.
The items donated include a wheel chair, stethoscope and crotches amongst other items.
Brigadier General Shipi also made a similar donation to the Guards Brigade Medical Centre recently.

The event, held at the Multi Purpose Hall of the College was attended by Directors, Members of Faculty and senior officers who appreciated the donor with a standing ovation.
In another development, the Commandant Army War College Nigeria, Major General Charles Ofoche bids farewell to officers who were posted out from the College to other units and formations.
He appreciated the senior officers for their services while at the College. He noted with satisfaction their numerous contributions towards the advancement of the College and urged them to continue to render their services to the College, Nigerian Army and the Nation at large.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Director of Administration, Brigadier General Abubakar Ahmed explained that the event was organized to celebrate the senior officers for the services rendered to the College.
Also, during the occasion, the Director of War and Strategy, Brigadier General Adamu Laka presented gifts to Brigadier Generals Emmanuel Akpan, and Bayode Adetoro who were former Members of Faculty
Other senior officers celebrated at the event are Brigadier General Maina Kadai and Major Gideon Ndahi.
