Gambari: Third-Estate, Ilorin Groups Congratulate Buhari’s chief of staff
There has been an outpour of goodwill and congratulatory messages to the newly appointed chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari who replaces the late Abba Kyari.
Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation announced Gambari’s appointment at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja.
Gambari resumed in the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday and participated in the FEC meeting presided over by the President Buhari.
Congratulating Gambari, the President of Third Estate, Mallam Ahmed Bolaji Nagode said it is hopeful that the Kwara State-born chief of staff will utilise his skills in serving the country.
The Third-Estate is an association of professionals and educated elites of Ilorin extraction who are committed to the promotion of the development Ilorin Emirate and the welfare of its citizens.
Nagode said the appointment was a pleasant recognition of Gambari’s distinguished record as a diplomat of distinction, global acceptability and an academic of distinction.
“It is also a confirmation of your enduring commitment to national development and capacity to mobilize human and natural resources for a common purpose.
“This appointment coming as a golden cap to other previous important national and international positions you have held is a divine blessing and source of inestimable pride to Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State and Nigeria for which we are extremely grateful to the Almighty Allah.”
Speaking on the same vein, Ilorin Anchor Men and Women Initiative, a social-culural group, joined commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Gsambari into the exalted position.

The association views this appointment as a great achievement, not only to him, but to the entire Ilorin Emirate and humanity in general, giving his wealth of experience both at home and abroad.
In a statement jointly signed by President and Secretary Engr Adamu B. Olufadi and Barrister Abdulrahman Olawale Solagberu respectively, the association also congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari and Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and other stakeholders in Kwara State for the recognition.
Also the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) extended its goodwill message to Prof. Gambari in a statement jointly signed by its President, Abdullahi Babatunde Salaudeen and the Publicity Secretary, Mohammed Uthman Jagunma.
They described the appointment as well-deserved, considering Prof. Gambari’s track records and noble services to the Federal Republic of Nigeria in various capacities. They prayed that Almighty Allah should grant Prof. Gambari the knowledge, wisdom and understanding needed to perform excellently in his new assignment. Amin.
Meanwhile in his congratulatory message, former Senate president and Kwara State Governor, Senator Bukola Saraki described Gambari as a decent man, a cerebral academic and disciplined diplomat.
Saraki believed that his fellow statesman “is coming in with the necessary pedigree that will help him to do well on the job.”
“I have no doubt that he will succeed on this onerous assignment. I urge all Nigerians to give him all the support that he needs to perform in office.”
Kwara State governor Abdulrasak Abdulrahman said Gambari’s appointment as the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari “is a befitting development that is rooted in dedication, loyalty, and history.”
Prior to the official announcement which came on Wednesday, Emir of Ilorin, Gambari’s hometown, in a statement on Tuesday evening thanked Buhari “for appointing Professor Ibrahim Gambari as his new Chief of Staff.”
