Minister commends Gov. Sule for Improving WASH Project in Nassarawa
The Honourable Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman H. Adamu FNSE, FAEng has commended the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule and the Government of Nasarawa State for their dedication towards improving WASH SERVICES in Nassarawa State. Engr Adamu similarly commended Gov. Sule for awarding contract for the construction of access road to the site for Farin Ruwa Multi-Purpose Dam Project, in Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The Minister gave the commendation today 9th June, 2020 in Abuja when the Governor paid him a thank you visit to appreciate President Muhammadu Buhari and Federal Executive Council (FEC) for awarding the contract for the completion of Farin Ruwa Dam.
Engr. Adamu said that Federal Government is willing to partner with every State Government towards the provision of Water Supply Infrastructure as well as to deliver the dividends of democracy to the citizens of Nigeria.
Engr. Adamu encouraged Governor Sule to work towards making Nasarawa State Open Defecation Free (ODF) and to continue to give priority attention to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene(WASH): the basic ingredients of life.

The Minister charged the Chairman of Wamba Local Government and the Traditional Rulers to cooperate with the Contractors handling the project as well as ensure the provision of security so that the dam construction will be completed without any hindrance.
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) had on its meeting of 3rd June, 2020 granted approval to Federal Ministry of Water Resources to complete the construction of Farin Ruwa Multipurpose Dam.
Earlier in his speech, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule said that the Multipurpose Dam when completed will provide potable water and electricity to Wamba Local Government and environs as well generate direct employment to over 30 thousand Nigerian Youths who are versed in agricultural development.
In her closing remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Mrs. Ekaro Comfort. C noted that the visit of the Governor will encourage the Federal Government to do more for the Government and good people of Nasarawa State and asked the Governor not to relent in his efforts.
The Governor was accompanied by: Distinguished Senator representing Nasarawa North Federal Constituency, Senator Godiya Akwashiki, Hon. Member of House of Representatives representing Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Abdulkarim Usman Obamas, retired Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Water Resources; Dr. Musa Ibrahim, Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Murtala Lamus, the Chairman of Wamba Local Government Council, Abubakar Abbas, His Royal Highness Emir of Lafia and Chairman Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, Justice Sidi Bage Mohammed (rtd) among other Traditional Rulers.
