Nigerian Army to Rehabilitate Facilities at Military Police School
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, said that facilities and structures which have become dilapidated at the Nigerian Army School of Military Police, at Basawa Cantonment, in Zaria, Kaduna State, would soon be rehabilitated.
Buratai, gave the assurance, yesterday, when he commissioned the newly-constructed and fully-furnished Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police Headquarters, situated at the Shehu Yar’adua Barracks, in Asokoro.
At the ceremony, the Army Chief, inaugurated the ultra-modern state-of-the-art brand new Military Police Headquarters Complex, the remodelled Special Investigation Bureau Office, a canteen, and an empty yard, which will accommodate the motor transport officer and quarter master.

While delivering his speech, Lt. Gen. Buratai, commended the NA Military Police Corps’ leadership for judiciously utilizing limited resources at their disposal in constructing the imposing edifice.
The Acting Provost Marshal of the Army, Brig. Gen. Hassan Ahmed, in his welcome address, said their expanded Corps Headquarters now has 54 offices, three large conference rooms, a library, four interrogation rooms and viewing areas, together with a forensic laboratory.
“The project also include a car park, Quarter Guard and related structures, as well as an access control sentry post,” he added.
According to the Acting Provost Marshal, the Special Investigation Bureau building, has been expanded and restructured to accommodate a befitting Commander’s Office, conference room, and the traditional ‘Black House’ designed for investigation and interrogation.
