The head of Operation and Investigation of Code of Conduct Bureau, Mr. Sam Madujimo, as Prosecution witness 1, on Thursday alleged before Justice Danladi Umar lead-Code of Conduct Tribunal that the erstwhile Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Godsday Peter Orubebe, never declared his plot number 2057 of Cadastral zone Asokoro Abuja.
Mr. Madujimo, made the disclosure in Abuja, during his cross-examination, administered by the lead defense counsel Mr. Selekowei Larry (SAN), stated that the title document of the land ware acquired with two other lands in Abuja by the defendant on the 10th of April, 2011, which plot number 2057, Cadastral Zone, number A04 of Asokoro, Abuja was not captured in his ends of tenure assets declaration form dated June, 2011.
He said ‘‘FCT Department of Land Administration and Geographical Unit, stated in their certified letter, in exhibit 6, confirmed that plot number 2057 Cadastral Zone, number A04 of Asokoro, Abuja, with file number DT/61/611 was allocated to Godsday Peter Orubebe, on the 10th of April, 2011, adding that both right of occupancy and Certificate of Occupancy has been conveyed to him through his emissary.
However, the defence counsel sought to know how the emissary collected the land and on whose authority?
The CCB Head of operation responded that the emissary is the defence Technical assistance, one Eng. Anbaiowei Rodney Ebiaevna, was instructed by the defendant in a letter written on the 13th June 2011, instructing him to collect 3 Certificate of Occupancy from Abuja Director of Land on his behalf, contained in exhibit 6.
Nonetheless, the defence counsel, Mr. Larry (SAN) said the land in contention was offered as a gift to the defendant by the previous regime in his capacity as former Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Prosecution Witness 1 contended that, that was not captured in his asset declaration form at the point of exiting office in June 2011.
Hereafter the matter was adjourned to 24th of May, 2016 for continuation of cross examination of the PW II as prayed by the prosecution Counsel, lead by the Director Public Prosecution, M. S. Diri, for the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.
Elder Godsday Peter Orubebe was arraigned by the Code of Conduct Bureau to Tribunal for alleged false asset declaration last November year.
